9/15/15 - Wednesday Armsday 2.0

Here are all of the NEW guns for this week in action. I am excluding the Häkke Test-A Sniper as it is a copy of last week and cannot be completed twice.
Without further ado, let's get to testing!

EDIT: As it is not yet actually Armsday, there is a chance that there will be yet another batch of weapons for field testing tomorrow (Wednesday). Do your best to get as many of these weapons done today as you can, just in case.

Omolon Test HC1 - Hand Cannon
Make Precision Shots

  • I think Omolon weapons are quickly becoming favorites of mine, these things are so sleek looking. More precision kills this week, to which I suggest either using Siege of the Warmind on Earth or doing so while on patrols. Doing actual missions this week with these weapons may be a good idea as well as they seem pretty strong.

Suros TSA-10 - Auto Rifle
Make Precision Kills

  • Hey! Another Shamu gun! I know a lot of people are fond of Suros designs but they all look...bloated to me. A slightly different job this time around, as you're looking specifically for precision kills and not just hits, so I definitely think you should head for the Warmind and slice through some Thrall.

Häkke Test-A - Pulse Rifle
Get Ten Crucible Kills

  • Same pulse rifle as last week, so expect to hear a chorus of resounding thuds in Crucible soon. Interesting to note - I believe this is the first available pulse rifle in the game to fire a four-shot burst rather than the previous norm of three. Useful perk too, as kills increase stability, which should help keep this weapon's monstrous kick on a leash. Use whatever Crucible mode you want, although Rumble may serve you best - just shoot whatever moves.

Suros TSR-10 - Rocket Launcher
Get Ten Crucible Kills

  • The true Shamu returns for another week. This time around, you'll need to be getting kills with it in Crucible. As this is a heavy weapon, you may find this one taking a little bit longer than normal. Find some Mayhem matches for your best chance.

Häkke Test-A - Sniper Rifle
Earn Double-Kills

  • Now here's the intersting one this week. This weapon is exactly identical, including it's test requirements, to that of last week. As such, it is already greyed out and untestable for me. I'd love if some of you can confirm if this is the same for you as it is for me. Again, another Warmind weapon for you. Poor Thrall, we're gonna slaughter them in the thousands.

FAQs -
Where do I pick up the weapons?

  • At the Gunsmith in the Tower, his stock will refresh once weekly.

When is the weekly Armsday refresh?

  • Week 1 occured on a Wednesday, but Week 2 started with the weekly refresh. We'll be able to confirm this refresh time next week, Week 3.

How do we turn in the quests when we are done with the weapon?

  • You don’t. As soon as the weapon signifies to you that you have finish its field test, you are automatically rewarded with the XP towards your Gunsmith rank.

Can’t I just give these weapons all to one character across my whole account for 3x the XP?

  • No. Gunsmith field test weapons cannot be put into the vault. Each character you have can only use these guns once each towards Gunsmith XP.

What do I do with the guns once finished?

  • Whatever you want. There is no need to hold onto them anymore (as far as we know) unless there is a useful perk on them that may come in handy.

How many Crucible kills do I need to finish [Insert Weapon]?

  • As of Week 1 it appears to be 10.

9/16/15 - Wednesday Armsday 2.1

Starting this week now, we can see a new line of icons at the Gunsmith - your Foundry Orders. You have an option of five legendary-level weapons to choose from, which at Gunsmith Level 1 you may only choose one of. This weapon should be delivered a week from now on the next Armsday.

It's important to note, this weapon will take up a spot in said weapons type in your inventory for the week. So make room for it.

Good news, no heavy weapons this week, and no Crucible tests either!

Omolon Test HC1 - Hand Cannon
Make Precision Shots

  • This think kinda reminds me of Judge Dredd's Lawgiver. Decent impact this week, all you're going to have to do is hit some heads or hearts with it. Siege of the Warmind is, as almost always, a good bet, but if you've got some patrolling to do this weapon could serve you well.

Suros TSP-10 - Pulse Rifle
Use Against Hive Targets

  • Ah, our first pulse rifle to test apart from a Häkke, and another member of the Shamu clan to boot. Nothing really special about this weapon, which I yet again recommend going to Warmind for. If not, just use it running around on the Dreadnought for a bit and you're sure to finish it quickly.

Häkke Test-A - Shotgun
Use Against Hive Targets

  • A shotgun with built in Rangefinder and some pretty high impact to boot. Kinda happy we wont be seeing this weapon everywhere in Crucible then. Sling this one along with you wherever you choose to use the Suros this week as they share the same goal.

Also, don't Häkke weapons look like pretty much the only ones that could exist in real life? As in exist today, not at some point in the future. I also love the sounds these Häkke guns make, they're so "earthy".

Häkke Test-A - Sniper Rifle
Make Double Kills

  • Seriously, Häkke loves double kills...Nice clear scope on this weapon this week, zooms decently. Double kills can be made pretty easily on any Patrol, and chances are you're running about on the Dreadnought as it is currently. If you wanna get this one done quick though, you already know what I'm going to recommend.  Warmind.

Omolon Test RR1 - Sniper Rifle
Use Against Fallen Captains

  • Our only all-new field test goal this week. Another nice, clear scope to look through, and another gun I love the sound of - it's got an almost liquid quality to it. Then again, most Omolon guns actually appear to run on liquid. As this is a sniper, there was one place that sprung to mind that this could be completed on quite fast - the cliffs above the Vex/Fallen melee during the middle section of the Archon Priest strike on Venus. There are more than a few Captains running around down there, and you can just jump off the cliff after they're down to grab them again. If you don't want to deal with a strike, just go patrolling in the Forgotten Shore in the Cosmodrome. Two Captains respawn there regularly - one on the center ship, and one in the building leading down to Rasputin's bunker.

9/23/15 - Wednesday Armsday 3.0

NOTE: THIS IS ABSOLUTE PRIORITY. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, DO ANYTHING WITH THE WEAPON ORDER PACKAGE IN YOUR INVENTORY. USING IT AS A CONSUMABLE DELETES IT AND YOU CAN NO LONGER OBTAIN THE WEAPON. GO IMMEDIATELY TO THE GUNSMITH AT THE TOWER!

Once you get to the tower, bring your Armsday packages from last week to the Gunsmith. You will have the option of choosing between possible variations of the weapon you ordered, with different elemental effects and perks available between your possible choices.

The number of variations of each order available is equal to your Gunsmith level. This means that you should complete your field test weapons first before picking up your ordered weapons, as you may level up and get a new option.

I'd like to point out that you do NOT have the entirety of the week to place weapons orders. It appears that the time limit is when Xûr leaves the tower on Sundays. Place your orders by Saturday night.
Your ordered weapons are at 280, so a nice starting point in line with everything else you can get at the Tower.

Now, back to the field test weapons. Again, they are at 200 damage, so that seems to be the norm. We've got four primaries this week and only one secondary, and the general theme seems to be the Dreadnaught. No heavies and no Crucible for a second straight week!

Häkke Test-A - Auto Rifle
Use Against Cabal

  • I think this is the first auto rifle we've seen for testing from Häkke. These things look like they could be weapons pulled straight out of modern day, I love the rugged look of them, and its got such a great sound when firing too. Häkke weapons definitely are up there with my favorites. As with pretty much all of this weeks weapons, patrolling the Dreadnaught is going to be your best bet, either in the Hull Breach (your starting patrol area) or just ahead through the chasm to the Mausoleum.

Suros TSA-10 - Auto Rifle
Make Precision Kills

  • Insert whale noise. Suros weapons are really clean, no nonsense, I've got to respect that. Easy enough goal, just run around pretty much wherever you'd like to get those headshot (or for Vex, heartshot) kills.

Häkke Test-A - Pulse Rifle
Make Precision Shots

  • So far I believe this is the only weapon to make it to each Armsday. It should feel familiar to you all by now, but this week it's blessed with Full Auto, so those four shot bursts are going to come quick.Again, precision shots can be done absolutely anywhere, but if you want to get this one done super quickly, go back to Siege of the Warmind once again. Waves of thralls make for easy pickings.

Suros TSP-10 - Pulse Rifle
Use Against Hive

  • It's even got a little whale tail, look at it! That's adorable! Makes all the little beeps and whirs you've come to expect from your Suros weaponry, but man does this thing have quite a bit of kick at range. Again, your choices are simple for this week - Warmind or Dreadnaught, your call.

Häkke Test-A - Sniper Rifle
Kill Cabal Centurions

  • Now here's the one that might take you a little bit more time this week. Centurions aren't exactly known for showing up by the half dozen, so you're going to have to camp out somewhere. Again, best to stick with the Dreadnaught patrols. In the Mausoleum, up if you are facing the Cabal ship, you will have a Centurion who spawns and always makes his way up onto the cylindrical platform to the right, easy pickings. You can do that or just pick off the few that enter battle against the Hive in the Hull Breach as well. Also, go for ones with read health, not yellow health, as there was an issue with kills not counting against yellow health Fallen Captains last week for one of the field tests.

This week's weapons for order are as follows.
Suros ARI-45 - Auto Rifle
Suros DIS-43 - Scout Rifle
Omolon Tuonela SR4 - Scout Rifle Note that the icon for this is for some reason Suros, but this is an Omolon weapon.
Häkke Herja-D - Pulse Rifle
Omolon Uzume RR4 - Sniper Rifle

FAQs -
Where do I pick up the field-test weapons?

  • At the Gunsmith in the Tower, his stock will refresh once weekly.

When is the weekly refresh?

  • Wednesdays at 5AM ET/2AM PT, now deemed Armsday.

How does placing orders work?

  • Every Armsday (Wednesday), a new set of legendary level weapons will be available for you to place orders on. They are available at the Gunsmith at the tower, and these weapons change each week. For every level you have reached with the Gunsmith, you may order one weapon. The weapon will be delivered the next Armsday, until which the order package will appear as an unequipable weapon in your inventory.

How much does each order cost?

  • 2500 Glimmer

How long do I have to place orders before the next Armsday?

  • As of Week 2, the cutoff appears to be when Xûr leaves the tower on Sunday.

How do I get my ordered weapons?

  • The orders that sit in your inventory will be openable on Armsday by bringing them to the gunsmith. You will have an option to pick one of three variations of the weapon, with different perks and possible elemental choices.

How do we turn in the quests when we are done with the weapon?

  • You don’t. As soon as the weapon signifies to you that you have finished its field test, you are automatically rewarded with the XP towards your Gunsmith rank.

How much rep do you earn per weapon?

  • 250 rep. Levels 1 and 2 are 1500 rep, level 3 and beyond are 2000.

There is no need to hold on to them once completed.

How many Crucible kills do I need to finish [Insert Weapon]?

  • Ten kills in total, with the weapon itself, not just with it equipped. Assists count as a kill.

Kills against [Insert Enemy] aren’t counting, why?

  • Unless the field test specifies that kills are to be done against elite enemies (yellow heath), always do your kills against normal red-health enemies. For example, if your goal is to kill Fallen Captains, the Elite Captain at the cave on Venus leading towards the Ketch will not count.

9/30/15 - Wednesday Armsday Week 4

Omolon Test FR1 - Fusion Rifle
Use Against Vex Minotaurs

  • The fusion rifle makes a return to the lineup this week. This is the fusion rifle from Week 1, which I still really love the sound of. Patrolling Venus is going to be pretty central to all of today's weapons, so get comfy riding over orange soda for a bit.

Omolon Test HC1 - Hand Cannon
Use Against Vex

  • Ah the little little Lawgiver wannabe is back. It's got Surrounded on it this week, so try to get yourself in the middle of a group of Goblins for the extra damage.

Suros TSP-10 - Pulse Rifle
Use Against Hive

  • The only weapon this week that can't be done on Venus. Extended mag is helpful with these weaker test weapons, you may find yourself thinking they pack a harder punch than they actually do thanks to us all being comfortable now with higher light damage levels. Do this one either on the Dreadnaught because let's face it, you're going to the Dreadnaught at some point today, or make a quick trip back down to Siege of the Warmind to take out a few waves of Thrall.

Omolon Test RR1 - Sniper Rifle
Use Against Fallen Captains

  • Just to clarify, yellow-heath enemies for some reason do not count towards your kill total for these kinds of field test goals. So don't just go farm the one at the upper cave that heads towards the Skiff, he doesn't count.

Häkke Test-A - Sniper Rifle
Get Double Kills

  • I would pair this one up with whenever you do the quests for the HC1 or the TSP-10 this week, double kills happen in tight groups so Goblins or Thrall will be easy pickings.

For purchase this week, sadly we have no heavies, but the selection is ok:

Suros ARI-45 - Auto Rifle
Suros DIS-47 - Scout Rifle *Note that the weapon logo says Omolon, but this is a Suros
Omolon Tesan FR4 - Fusion Rifle
Häkke Aoife Rua-D - Sniper Rifle
Omolon Eirene RR4 - Sniper Rifle

10/7/15 - Wednesday Armsday 5.0

Again, we have a week of no Crucible and no Heavy weapons, with another focus primarily on patrolling the Dreadnaught. Should be easy hunting!

Häkke Test-A - Auto Rifle
Use Against Cabal

  • Pretty decent AR here but low clip size. At least it gets the damage with the lower half of each clip. Hunt the Cabal at the start of your Dreadnaught patrol or up ahead at the Mausoleum.

Häkke Test-A - Pulse Rifle
Make Precision Shots

  • Pulse rifle with precision shots, really shouldnt be too hard, especially with the patented Häkke 4-shot burst. Do this wherever you'd like, but again, patrolling Dreadnaught seems to be the main goal here this week.

Suros TSP-10
Use Against Hive

  • Lightweight isn't much help here, but at least it's a simple goal. Want this done super-fast, go to Siege of the Warmind. Otherwise, go wild yet again on the Dreadnaught, just be sure to pair it with...

Häkke Test-A - Shotgun
Use Against Hive

  • Man, Häkke is out in force this week. Bonus melee after landing a hit is a nice little perk, but honestly this thing should rip through any lesser Hive it even touches. Same places as the previous weapons should work well.

Omolon Test RR1
Use Against Fallen Captains

  • There's always one that has to do with the Fallen...your best shot is on patrol on Earth just over in the Mothyards. There are three respawning Captains in that zone - One in the higher cave you jump off the angled wing into, one in the cave directly underneath the Skywatch, and a third at the actual entrance to the Skywatch itself. EDIT: Thanks to /u/PolentaDogsOut for pointing this out - The "higher cave" I spoke of earlier, the one that requires you to jump off of an isolated, angled wing to get into, is clearly the best grind spot for this. After each clear of the small cave, you can run outside and away just a bit, wait about five seconds, then double jump to respawn the enemies inside. I got my ten Captain kills in about four minutes with this method.

This week's Armsday Order (Special Auto Rifle edition!) weapons are:
Häkke Zarinaea-D - Auto Rifle
Suros ARI-41
Suros ARI-45
Suros JLB-47
Omolon Uzume RR4

10/14/15 - Wednesday Armsday 6.0

Suros TSA-10 - Auto Rifle
Make Precision Kills

  • Decent clip size but no perk to assist you. Should be simple to tear through some Thrall with this one though.

Häkke Test-A - Hand Cannon
Score Crucible Kills

  • I'm happy to see this one if only to know what I will eventually get once there is an order for a Häkke hand cannon...if ever.

Omolon Test HC1 - Hand Cannon
Make Precision Shots

  • Ah the little Lawgiver again, but wow, what a useless perk. Again, just go pop a few Thrall with this one.

Suros TSP-10 - Pulse Rifle
Use Against Hive

  • Starting to understand why I'm highly recommending Siege this week? No perk on this gun, looks like an absolutely average weapon, but again, it should have no problems tearing through some Thrall.

Häkke Test-A - Sniper Rifle
Make Double-Kills

  • Warmind. Seriously, Warmind this week, you can finish everything but the Crucible weapon in about ten minutes.

Special Armsday Orders This Week:
Häkke Zarineaea-D - Auto Rifle
Omolon Tuonela SR4 - Scout Rifle
Suros JLB-47 - Rocket Launcher
Häkke Strongbow-D - Shotgun
Häkke Aoife Rua-D - Sniper Rifle
