In Destiny, the devs did something interesting. They made "tiers" of Rate of Fire and Impact - for each weapon type. We've probably all noticed it in-game to some degree, but it's very clear when written out.
It’s especially noticeable for Primary weapons; Special and Heavy weapons don’t follow quite as closely, but they're still pretty tiered. (Except for Fusion Rifles, which are all over the place!)
All Exotic and Legendary weapons are listed below:
