Reddit Thread: Exotic Bounty Guide

Descriptions of Exotic Weapons HERE

There are total of 5 exotic Bounties at the moment in the Game. You have a 2% Chance to get an exotic Bounty when you give the Bountytrader on the Tower finished Bounties.

For each exotic Bounty you get as a reward an exotic Weapon.

A Light in the Dark
The Reward for this Bounty is a Hand Cannon called Thorn. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

1 - Complete the Summoning Pits Strike on the Moon
2 - Harvest the Energie of Hive on the Moon the activate the Weapon
3 - Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in the Crucible
4 - Bring the Hand Cannon to the Speaker
5 - Cleanse yourself and the Weapon with an Infusion of Light
6 - Bring the Weapon to Ikora Rey
7 - Kill Xyor the Unwed
8 - Return to the Speaker

Explanation to:

2 - You have to kill Enemies on the Moon until you reach 500 Points

3 - You have to Kill others Player in Crucible with Void Damage Weapons (Special & Heavy) and / or with your Void Damage Character Skill. For every Void Damage Kill you earn 5 Points and for every Death you lose 2 Points.

7 - Phogoth must be alive until Xyor spawns with the 3rd reinforcement Ship. Also, you may have to damage Phogoth without killing him for the ships to spawn.

Toland's Legacy
The Reward for this Bounty is a Pulse Rifle called Bad Juju. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

1 - Complete a Weekly Heroic or Nightfall Strike
2 - Bring the Journal to Ikora Rey
3 - Complete 25 Strikes
4 - Bring the Journal to Ikora Rey
5 - Bring the Journal to the Gunsmith
6 - Obtain a darkness infused Weapon frame from Xûr
7 - Bring the Weapon Frame to the Gunsmith
8 - Defeat Guardians in the Crucible
9 - Return the Weapon to the Gunsmith

Explanation to:

3 - Run the Nexus Mind strike in Venus. With two people it takes 7 minutes per run and with three it takes less than 5:30. Kill the servitors in the beginning, run through everything until the boss, and kill the boss from a safe-ish spot. Weekly Heroic counts as 2 and Nightfall counts as 3.

8 - The Bounty PvP Points are not the same as the PvP Points. For every Titan / Hunter Kill or Assist you get 25 Points and for every Warlock Kill or Assist you get 75 Points. There is no Point penalty if you die.

A Dubious Task
The Reward for this Bounty is a Shotgun called Invective. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

1 - Talk to Ikora Rey
2 - Complete a total of 5 Strikes without dying
3 - Return to Ikora Rey
4 - Earn a K/D Spread of 25 in the Crucible
5 - Return to Ikora Rey
6 - Complete a Weekly Challenge Activity
7 - Return to Ikora Rey
8 - Purchase an Invective Component from the Gunsmith
9 - Return to Ikora Rey

Explanation to:

2 - You have to survive only 5 Strikes, the counter is not reset to zero when you die in a Strike.

4 - 25 K/D Spread = 25 more Kill as Deaths. Every Kill and Assist is +1 Point for the Counter and every Death is -1 Point. As Example, you finished a Match with 10 Kills, 4 Assist and 5 Deaths, your Counter is now by 9 ( 14-5=9 ) In your next Match you have 5 Kills, 0 Assist and 6 Deaths, your Counter is now by 8 because 5-6= -1. In the next Match you have 10 Kills and 0 Deaths, your Counter shows now 18.

6 - Weekly Heroic or Nightfall Strike

8 - you have to buy 50 Special Weapons synthesis Packs which cost total 12500 Glimmer. If you have already some Special Weapons synthesis Packs in your inventory at the time, it will count towards to the 50.

Shattered Memory Fragment
The Reward for this Bounty is a Fusion Rifle called Pocket Infinity. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

1 - Obtain a damaged Ghost from Venus Shattered Coast
2 - Kill a Vex Gate Lord with heroic Modifier active
3 - Bring the unlocked Ghost to the Speaker in the Tower
4 - Bring the Fusion Rifles Schematics to the Gunsmith
5 - Charge the Core by Dismantling 10 rare or higher quality Fusion Rifles
6 - Bring the charged Core to the Gunsmith
7 - Kill enemies in a Weekly Nightfall Strike
8 - Return the Prototype to the Gunsmith

Explanation to:

1 - Shattered coast.  When you spawn follow the path on the right and the place with the steps and the statue in front of it. Facing towards the steps, there is an entrance on the right.  Its where fallen spawn and you go up the stairs to get to to the place where the vex spawn in the first mission there. To the right of the steps is one of those small dark rooms

2 - Storymission on Venus called "Eye of a Gate Lord"

5 - The best Way without Stress is by the Gunsmith. All 3 Hours he changes his Offer. So look every 3h and hope. After a few Days he sold finally the rare Fusion Rifles to me. Buy 11 Fusion Rifles because in one of the next Step you need one Fusion Rifle.

7 - You have to kill 200 Enemies with a Fusion Rifle in the darkness Zone of a Nightfall Strike, the quality of the Fusion Rifles does not matter for this Step.  Apparently, you can go to Ishtar Commons instead of the strike. Level 28 mobs that count for your bounty, and you can die alllllll you want!

A Voice in the Wilderness
The Reward for this Bounty is a Machine Gun called Super Good Advice. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

1 - Search loot caches on Mars for clues
2 - Bring the Frame to the Gunsmith
3 - Acquire a Pristine Golden Age Ammunition Module from Xûr
4 - Kill enemies with Machine Guns
5 - Bring the Frame to the Gunsmith

Explanation to:

1 - you have to find random Chests on Mars

3 - Cost one Strange Coin

4 - You need 500 Points for this Step. For every Kill with a Machine Gun you get 1 Point. For every Headshot with the Machine Gun you get 3 Points. If you use a Rocket Launcher on this Step, you lose for every Kill 5 Points.

Additional notes for A Request from Ikora - Invective Exotic Bounty

From Reddit Thread:

Hello Guardians. More info about the weapon here - Invective

The Invective shotgun is a fully automatic shotgun for the special weapon slot. It ranges from 260-300 attack, had a 4 round magazine that if upgraded can regenerate over time, and has solar damage.

You get exotic bounties at random by turning in any number of bounties at once, but to increase your chances, the thought is to turn in as many as you can at one time.

Part one:

After choosing this bounty you have to take to Ikora Rey, the warlock vanguard. She will give you your first assignment: Complete 5 strikes without dying.

I did the first level 8 strike "The Devil's Lair". Although i've been told that the nexus can be done faster given that you do not die. Seeing that it is a level 8 strike i thought it would be the fastest. Once you complete this part, you will go back to Ikora Rey for step two of the bounty.

Part two:

Achieve a kill/death spread of 25 in the crucible. I have seen many mixed messages in this subreddit about what that means so I will explain what it is exactly. Your spread is not the same as your ratio. If you kill 5 people and die 2 times, your spread is 3. Your spread is equal to kills minus deaths not kills divided by deaths. This does not mean you need to get 25 more kills than deaths in a single game, the bounty carries over into other games!

Normally I don't get 25 more kills than deaths in games, so here are some tricks that I used to complete the bounty because I didn't want to play normally and complete the bounty over five games. Instead I completed it in two.

When trying to complete this part:
- Use a sniper, do not go for close range combat. Pick people off from a far distance where your enemy cannot get you from and switch spots regularly so enemies don't come hunting you down.
- Do not capture objective, this only makes you an easier targets because the enemy knows where you are. Try to stay back in the map and preferable near other teammates and try to defend an objective so you know exactly where you need to be and shoot and where the enemy will be. (I only play control in the crucible so thats what I'm talking about with objectives).
- Use your supers to defend yourself, not kill for points. You want to stay alive as long as you can, even if it means killing only one person with your super or even just using it to scare away enemies.
- Play smart, play back, defend, stick together, look at your radar, be aware of your surroundings, and you'll finish the bounty in no time.

After completing this step, go back to Ikora Rey.

Part three:

Complete a weekly challenge. This means just to complete the weekly mission posted on the left side of the world map in orbit. I am not sure if it does not count if you complete it when you have already completed it in the same week because when I did it, it was my first time doing the weekly challenge for that week. I am guessing that it will still count, even if it is on the same difficulty. I just did it on the lowest level because I wanted to finish it fast but if you plan to do it on a higher difficulty than you can still do that. I recommend doing this with at least one other player just in case you die so you can revive each other and don't get reset at the last checkpoint. I'm sure most people complete the weekly challenges anyways so its not like its anything new that I need to explain. After completing this step, once again go back to Ikora Rey.

Part four:

Go to the gunsmith. You will need to buy 50 special ammo consumables to get the shotgun. This means you will need 12,500 glimmer to pay for all of this.

If you do not have this much glimmer and you need more fast, and since the glimmer farms have been patches, I will tell you what I did for quick cash. I went to patrol on earth to kill the three acolytes repeatedly in the building where you go in the beginning of the story where you have your ghost scan something or whatnot. You can find the area by going directly to the right of the computer room once you go down the stairs. You will see another flight of stairs to go down and the acolytes spawn in a room to the left. Use wax idols so you can get more glimmer from each of them. With the black wax idols on you can get about 100-120 glimmer for killing all of them. To make them respawn go past the room and you will find a staircase going up to the surface. If you see enemies nearby then you must kill them for the acolytes to respawn. At least thats what I observed.

If there are no enemies outside of the exit of the staircase then the acolytes wont respawn. In this case go back to entrance of the building and start the run over again. This isn't as good as the patches glimmer runs but it is still fast and efficient and probably the best of whats left for now that I could find. After spending all of your dough on special ammo consumables you will take the completed bounty back to Ikora Rey.

She will then give you the Invective shotgun for all of your troubles. Congratulations! You did it!

10/28-11/3 - Pocket infinity Bounty:

With the Nexus being this week's Nightfall, getting 200 Fusion Rifle kills should be cake:

Start the Nightfall and do an about face, you'll want to backtrack into the Academy area where the Vex and Fallen are fighting (where the final part of the first Venus mission takes place).

Those enemies are Level 28 and they count toward your bounty...but if you die, you can simply respawn and keep going. Clean up that rabble as much as you can, return to orbit and repeat as needed.
